Did you make sure to select the steam version in the trainer when playing via steam?
Did you gain some xp before and after activating the cheat?

I selected the currect version. Skillpoints and resources are working.

I tested the cheats but they seemed to work fine
For the weight cheat you have to open the inventory during battle

For the xp cheat you have to open the info screen during battle

and for the skillpoints cheat you have to select a character in the personnel screen
