  • 09.01.2024

It’s no secret that the PLITCH team is made up of a lot of nerds and geeks. Besides gaming, some of us share a passion for anime and manga, so we thought it would be a cool idea to look at games based on manga/anime.

Naruto

Some of you probably grew up following the adventures of Konohagakure’s bravest ninja – Naruto Uzumaki, bearer of the nine-tailed fox. Ever since he was a young boy, Naruto was an outcast because everyone feared the destructive powers of the fox.

Still, Naruto never gives up on his dream of becoming Hokage – the supreme ninja of his village. The sequel Naruto Shippuden follows him and his friends as they grow into adults and fight to save the world in the Fourth Shinobi World War.

Several Naruto games were released over the year and PLITCH supports six of them from the Ultimate Ninja STORM series. Step into the shoes of your beloved characters and relive your favorite Naruto and Shippuden arcs as you fight against enemies with powerful Jutsu attacks. If you ever wanted to be a ninja, this is your chance!

Yu-Gi-Oh!

Similar to Naruto, Yu-Gi-Oh! is one of the most popular Shonen titles and probably needs no introduction. The story revolves around Yugi Mutou, a shy boy who loves games and is often the target of bullies.

After solving an ancient puzzle, his body becomes a host to a mysterious spirit that has the personality of a gambler. Now, whenever he’s threatened, the other Yugi challenges his foes to a dangerous game where the loser will be facing a dark punishment. The trading card game remains popular to this day and the various videogames enable fans to experience the game in a different format.

Four games from the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise PLITCHable and let you build your own deck of cards with which you battle it out against other duelists. With our PLITCH codes for the games, you always have an ace up your sleeve.

Demon Slayer

The 23-volume-long manga Demon Slayer has risen in popularity in the past couple of years, especially with the release of its anime. After the family of the siblings Tanjirō and Nezuko was attacked by demons, Nezuko turned into a demon and Tanjirō does everything in his power to find a cure for his sister.

The game Demon Slayer – Kimetsu no Yaiba: The Hinokami Chronicles allows you to choose between the adventure mode where you play as Tanjirō and get to experience the story from the manga/anime and the versus mode which is the perfect choice if you want casual fights.

Match up characters from the franchise for some exhilarating battle action. With our PLITCH codes, you can customize the game and make it easier or harder for a unique experience.

Digimon

Okay, okay, technically Digimon started as virtual pets which were meant to be a counterpart to Tamagotchi but since there’s also an anime as well as various manga, we thought we’d include it anyway.

The story focuses on creatures who live in the “Digital World,” a parallel universe that has its origins in the Earth’s various communication networks. In the first season of the anime, a group of friends gets transported there and makes friends with the Digimon.

Various videogames were inspired by the franchise over the years and two of them are supported by PLITCH. Become a cyber detective or hacker in Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth: Complete Edition and collect over 300 Digimon to create an unbeatable team.

In the hybrid visual novel and tactical RPG Digimon Survive, you’ll face dangerous battles in a world full of mystery and have to try to stay alive!

In February 2023, Digimon World: Next Order was released. In this RPG, the Digital World is in disarray due to Machinedramon’s relentless attack and it’s up to you as a Digidestined to restore order. Explore this breathtakingly vibrant world and find those faithful Digimon comrades that will join your cause and help rebuild the Digital World.

BLEACH

Another manga classic that enjoys great popularity to this day is BLEACH. Its main character, Ichigo Kurosaki, obtains the powers of the Soul Reaper and henceforth has to defend humans from evil spirits and guide souls to the afterlife.

Besides the world of humans, various parallel dimensions exist in this universe, among them one where Shinigami live and are organized as a military-led training center. We won’t go further into detail in case you haven’t read the manga or watched the anime yet.

If you’ve finished the story in whatever format and are craving more content, how about playing BLEACH Brave Souls with PLITCH? Build a team of your favorite BLEACH characters and take them into battle against some of the most fearsome foes in the series! With our Godmode code, you’ll take out the villains in no time.

Attack on Titan

Attack on Titan is one of the most popular manga and anime. The 34-volume long manga was serialized from 2009 to 2021 and is set in a world where humanity is forced to live behind three gigantic walls to survive.

Outside the walls, so-called Titans are lurking – enormous human-like creatures who eat humans. The story revolves around Eren Yeager and his friends who want to eradicate them after the titans attacked their hometown and killed their families.

Due to its popularity, various novels and manga spin-offs were released as well as several video games. Two of them are supported by PLITCH: Attack on Titan – A.O.T. Wings of Freedom and Attack on Titan 2 – A.O.T. 2.

Experience what it’s like to fight the incredibly dangerous titans and dive into this unique anime world. Our codes will make sure that you won’t end up as titan food.

Dragon Ball

There are probably a few among you who grew up reading about or watching the journey of Son Goku, the protagonist of Dragon Ball. Ever since he was a child, he trained in martial arts and grew stronger.

After spending most of his childhood far away from any civilization, he suddenly meets a teenage girl named Bulma. He joins her on her quest of traveling the world in search of the Dragon Balls, seven orbs that can summon a wish-granting dragon when all of them have been collected and are in one place.

If you want more Dragon Ball content, you could try one of the five games that are supported by PLITCH. Whether you want to take on the role of your favorite characters in the franchise and have them compete in spectacular battles, or train with them and reenact their stories from the anime – these games got you covered.

One Piece

One Piece is one of the longest-running manga and is, 25 years after its start, still ongoing. So far, 104 volumes of the manga and 1,041 episodes of the anime have been released. The adventures of Monkey D. Luffy and his pirate crew, the Straw Hat Pirates, continue to fascinate people to this day.

Luffy, after unintentionally eating a so-called Devil Fruit, gains the properties of rubber. Luffy and his pirate crew explore and travel the world in search of the “One Piece,” a treasure that will make him the next King of the Pirates.

Six of the numerous video games set in the One Piece universe are PLITCHable. Slip into the role of Luffy and fight against powerful enemies alongside your crew. Our codes will give you powers that even those of the Devil Fruits can’t match!

Made in Abyss

Made in Abyss is probably a lesser-known manga and anime, at least when compared to the other titles on our list. The ongoing Seinen manga revolves around Riko, an orphaned girl who becomes friends with Reg, a boy who is part robot.

Together they explore the “Abyss” which lies deep beneath the Earth, with the goal of finding her mother. Don’t be fooled by the cutesy art style – the story is much darker than you’d expect.

In 2022, Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness was released, an action RPG in which you get to experience an original story set in this universe. Join Riko and Reg as they travel deeper into the Abyss and discover things that have been long forgotten. Customize the game with our codes to immerse yourself even more in the story.

One-Punch Man

Back to extremely popular titles – last but not least on our list is One-Punch Man. The still ongoing superhero manga focuses on Saitama, a superhero who can defeat any opponent with a single punch which results in him getting bored due to the lack of challenges.

He becomes the mentor to Genos, a cyborg who is seeking revenge against those who destroyed his hometown and killed his family.

If you want to experience the epic fights of this series firsthand, it’s time to try ONE PUNCH MAN: A HERO NOBODY KNOWS with PLITCH. Create your own avatar, join the Hero Association and become a powerful hero. Our codes will make sure that you leave every opponent in the dust.

We hope you like our selection of games and anime/manga. Some of us are now certainly in the mood to rewatch our favorite anime and play they games they’ve inspired.

Happy Gaming!
