Just so I’m understanding it right I have to spend some of the resource then make some then I can use the cheat?

You have to spend/gain some resources to be able to activate the cheat as well as to see a change in the value AND you need at least 1 of the resource.
Meaning gain/spend some gold, activate the cheats, gain/spend some gold again.

Right I got wood to work but gold and silver arent working even when i've earnt it from tax and spent some on armour and still have some left it does not work

Hiya,

I've taken a look at the cheats and corrected the errors, it should work properly now. 

You need to gain money -> cheats are now loaded and usable, then gain money again to display your added values.

still not working with silver and gold, not sure how to record the screen to show you but ive copied the video you sent and its still not working for some reason
