It's a shame more game devs do not enable rollbacks as a default option in Steam.

Clicking on the prepare button does nothing. Is it a bug?

After some extensive testing (about six hours of checking), I have found the problem for the cheat developers:
If you play as the Iron Teeth faction, they do not give you any form of tutorial. Thereby, you cannot complete the tutorial to allow activation.
The sensible thing is to just decouple the requirement from 'complete tutorial' to something more immediately achievable, such as 'build science hut' or 'achieve level 2 happiness) attainable by giving your beavers both food and water on the same day).

Are you playing the iron man mode?
Did you activate the prepare AFTER loading into your savegame?
