Starting with the fourth installment of Bloons TD, developer Ninja Kiwi has finally implemented an experience points system into the game. In Bloons TD 6, your XP is even more important than in the predecessors. In this article on Bloons TD 6 XP Farming, we’ll show you how you can farm XP as quickly as possible and thus level up in no time.

1) Bloons TD 6: Success with XP!

Experience points are your most important currency in Bloons TD 6, next to the actual money. You need XP to improve your heroes, get upgrades for your towers, and get better ranks. However, with the new installment, these are no longer called that but are now called levels.

Including all three paths per tower, you can use your experience points to unlock 330 upgrades and 155 levels throughout the game. But once you’ve reached the maximum, it doesn’t stop there. Then you can collect so-called veteran levels with your Bloons TD 6 XP.

2) XP in Bloons TD 6

Whenever a Bloon is hit by an arrow and bursts, you gain experience. In addition, the successful completion of a map or a challenge brings you additional XP.

Each level you reach with your experience points allows you to unlock new towers. There are 22 towers in total, each of which you can upgrade with additional abilities. These abilities in turn cost you experience points and money. For example, it takes 100 EXP as well as $120 to give the first tower (Dart Monkey) the first upgrade (Sharp Shots) to path 1.

Just for comparison, if you want to achieve the highest ability from the Dart Monkey, you’ll need a whopping 22,000 to 35,000 experience points depending on the path, plus between $1,530 and $28,300. In other words: In BTD6 you can never have enough money and experience. The rule is always: the more, the better.

Theoretically, each tower has 15 additional abilities. However, these are divided into three paths, each of which brings five abilities. Depending on which path you choose, the prices and Experience Points required vary. The 22 towers themselves can be sorted into four categories (Primary, Military, Magic, and Support).

Here is a short list of which level you need for which tower:

  • Level 1: Dart Monkey
  • Level 2-6: Boomerang Monkey, Bomb Shooter, Tack Shooter, Ice Monkey, Glue Gunner
  • Level 7-13: Sniper Monkey, Monkey Sub, Monkey Buccaneer, Monkey Ace, Heli Pilot, Mortar Monkey
  • Level 20: Dartling Gunner (Requires 500,000 pops)
  • Level 15-20: Wizard Monkey, Super Monkey, Ninja Monkey, Alchemist, Druid
  • Level 22-27: Banana Farm, Spike Factory, Monkey Village, Engineer Monkey

3) Bloons TD 6 XP Farming – How to quickly farm XP

It is true that you already get experience points when you play the game normally, without worrying about your XP count. But it’ll take you ages before getting somewhere. With the following tip, you will be able to level up your towers to the maximum in a few hours, instead of having to grind for several days or weeks.

First, choose the deflation mode. The advantage besides the experience points at the end is that you get 20,000 cash. If invested wisely, this will give you a hefty XP leverage.

As soon as your Deflation game starts, you occupy the edges of the path with as many Ninjas as possible. To make sure this doesn’t take too long, it’s best to place them via shortcut. Then place a cannon on a free space and place your hero Quincy in front of it. If there is still some space left, fill it up with more ninjas.

As soon as the attack waves come, you’ll notice that the bloons burst in staccato and you’ll be able to collect experience points every second. Although this isn’t the gameplay intended by Ninja Kiwi, it still works, and especially quickly.

The biggest advantage is that you don’t even have to finish the map successfully to get a lot of experience points. So you can’t lose at all, even if you “lose”. Difficulty level? Doesn’t matter! It is of no importance for you with this tactic.

And I would like to give you one more tip. It’s a bit more general, but it’s a good way for regular players to quickly gain experience points. Whenever new content is brought into the game – for example, in the form of new maps – you should jump right into it. Ninja Kiwi rewards your enthusiasm with extra XP.

This means that you don’t necessarily have to play only the maps with a high difficulty level to gain a lot of experience. Even easy maps can be useful if there is a boost on them.

But before we tell you the ultimate shortcut that will eliminate the need for tips in the future, here are a few hints to keep in mind if you want to farm XP as quickly as possible in Bloons TD 6:

  • Hint number 1: For each round, you get experience for deployed towers. The amount you get increases if you have more than one tower per type on the map. So if you want to upgrade your Alchemist, don’t use different towers in the next rounds, just use multiple copies of Alchemist to add up the XP.
  • Hint number 2: Forget about Freeplay. The experience points you get in the Freeplay rounds are almost a cheek and not worth the effort. Therefore, focus on the other modes or the rounds before Freeplay.
