Everspace 2 recently got an update and we added a new version in PLITCH too.
Please try to run both PLITCH and the platform you are playing on (Steam, MS-Store...) as an administrator and use the latest version in PLITCH and of the game.

Please make sure that you activate the "Prepare" only in the loaded game.
Does the play button turn gray or stay green after you start the game in PLITCH?
Please also check if your firewall is blocking PLITCH. The best way to make sure is to add an exception for PLITCH in your firewall.
I have checked the start process on our site, but everything seems to work correctly. I have recorded a video for you so that you can see in which order I do it: https://i.gyazo.com/3d4542a24b0c36ee390a604d652a27b4.mp4
In the video you can also see that I have the same version number in the lower left corner of the main menu as in PLITCH. This should be the same for you.
