My game is currently on version 0.7.995, but plitch supports version is 0.7.975. I tried it out and none of the cheats can be activated. Is this because the new version is a beta release, so this version won't be supported?

Yes, we do not support beta versions... if you want to use the cheats, you have to wait until the version releases on the main branch :)
