Can't activate when in main menu. Codes have random affects

I have a legit copy of the game, version 1.11 b. Ive tried running the plitch utilities app, and reinstalling plitch. no dice. Can't seem to activate until ive loaded my savegame, and now the codes are all outta wack and random. for example, my add recruits code, gives me machines, and the machines, rare metals, radioactives, and high-tech dont work at all.

EDIT: ok so preparing in the savegame is what im suppsoed to do sorry i got confused reading some other threads. Other than that I can't figure out why the codes aren't working properly.

Please always activate the prepare after loading into a savegame (for every game) :)

Yea I did i apologize. However I still can't get the buttons to work correctly. The recruits button only gives me machines for some reason. The machines button doesnt work, neither does rare metals, and high-tech. I also tried clicking them, and using the numpad. They register as if plitch knows i clicked them. but do nothing, or the wrong thing.

Did you gain/spend some of the resources before and after activating the cheats?

Ive tried both. Spending or gaining resources prior does not fix it, and not gaining or spending them also doesn't fix it.
