Cheats not working

I use the latest version of this app and I have the game running on Steam and the cheats set to Steam, some of the cheats work but, cheats for your companions don't work (SELECTED CHARACTER) and neither does the free items cheat.

I've tried a few different ways to get them to work, namely reinstalling the game and trying again after verifying the files and i've even tried cheats from other versions and they still don't work.

Would you kindly, fix this please ?

Did you use the free items cheat when trading?
Did you activate the selected char cheats in the Character-Summary-Screen?

Were you able to activate the cheats but they didn't seem to have a function?
Are you using mods or are you playing a beta/experimental version of the game?
