Increase level cheat

So I used the increase level cheat while playing this game, and while the number changes, none of the stats change as if they had actually leveled up. Is there something I am missing for it to take effect?

When I use the level up cheat, as Bartliss says, just increases the level number but nothing else changes. I just use the xp cheat instead, can even hold the number down til you hit about 9900 (character normally levels up every 100xp) so you will get the character to level 99 easily. Only downside is I believe the game has a cap depending on the class/character.

I changed the cheat to custom value. You can now type in the amount of xp you want to add :)
