Did you activate the prepare AFTER loading into your savegame?
Did you use the savegame in coop?

yes i have, still does not work. It changed the number of the item but when i go to use the item or put it in a chest it changes back to origonal quantity

I tested the cheat but it seemed to work fine.

It's probably not working because you used your savegame in coop.
