which cheats did you activate that cause the game to crash?
When I activate prepare only without (or with) other cheats , game crash but only when I going to Manuel battles.
Cheat like add gold, add Imperium, add exp... works, but before enter Manuel battles i must deactivate prepare cheats then game will not crash.
So cheats works in game overall but every time crash when going to battles.
