Unlimited Ammo seems to work for Enemies only. I still have to put ammo in weapons, and also it makes multishot weapons fire once. Disabling cheat reverts all back to normal. 

Fast charging destroys gun as soon as you enter the seat for the gun.

I tested the cheats. The unlimited ammo seemed to work fine. I could shoot even though the game indicated that the gun was empty.
Although you seem to be right about the fast charged gun cheat and I added that to the to-do list.
