The game received a few updates, but eventually roll back to the release version.
Is your game on version 1.0.0.3?

They did roll us back to 1.0.0.3 late in the day.  I had no problems with the trainer.  Adding Science works you just need to trigger the addition or removal of at least 1 research to add all the research you clicked which has been pretty normal for adding to some number values.  It has not crashed my game but science does  max at 999 on the UI.  Perhaps if you button mash it a ton you can crash it or crash the UI.

Max trust can only activate once? I save the game and quit. Then when I am back again, I can't activate the Max Trust anymore.
