I noticed some of the games you all listed under "No Trainer Possible" because those games are NOT in your region and I have read that Plitch is based out of Germany, but has your company ever considered expanding beyond German borders just so you all can create cheats for games available in other nations like the US or UK or Japan or anywhere else?

Hey Thackerboy,

Thank you for the suggestion. Steam games were restricted at the end of 2024, and only titles without an age rating are affected due to updated youth protection guidelines in Germany. We’re still able to access most games, with only a few smaller titles impacted by these restrictions. I’ll forward your suggestion to the relevant department, and we’ll consider a solution to address this issue.

Huh interesting, never considered the fact that Germany's governments historical hostility (rivaled by only that of Australia) would be the reason for this. Seriously governments worldwide need to get with the times and see games not as a kids toy... Still I do wonder if there would be a way for people to help ya'll bypass those restrictions.

There are some old games on that list, for starters, Wolfenstein 3D. I've played that game and it is WW2 based. There are images in that game that I heard were outlawed in Germany, for example, the Swastika.

Oh yes, I forgot about that restriction. Nazi symbols like swastikas were previously forbidden in video games in Germany. However, the regulations were relaxed in 2018, allowing such content under specific conditions. Primarily when it serves an artistic or educational purpose, similar to films. Games now need to be individually reviewed and verified under this context.

In the case of Wolfenstein, the developers began releasing two versions: a censored German version and an international uncensored version. After the restrictions were loosened, uncensored versions of those titles were made available again in the German Steam store. Also the game Wolfenstein 3D is back in the German Steam store, although, we’re unable to offer cheats for Wolfenstein 3D because the game runs via DOSBox Emulator.
