Are you playing the beta/experimental version of the game?
Were you able to activate the prepare?
Did you gain/spend some wood/coal before and after activating the resource cheats? (while prepare is active)

no, I am playing the regular game. I was able to activate the prepare, I can add money, just not items. But, with the money I can buy things from the marketplace. I did use the wood and coal and ore before trying the item cheat. Nothing happens. And, I had one item of each I tried before trying the item cheat .
