Any of the engine repairs doesn't work for me in career. I activate the prepare in main menu.

Please activate the prepare after loading into your savegame.

did you tried to use them within a race or between the races? the repairs are working only within races on current parts 😉

In the race. This have worked for me in the past but not anymore. Others does work like money and r&d

After a while I wanted to play this 2021 but still these engine repairs wont work. I have tried everything.
I reinstalled the game: No difference 
I run the game from plitch/from steam: no difference.
I push prepare in main menu/in save game: No difference. And every other like resource points and money does work so something has to be wrong with this... And yes, I play solo career
I also noticed that I have same issue with F1 2019 and F1 2020. Everything else but repair engine works
