I only plan on using this for runes so I don't have to grind as much for it. If I play offline mode on my main character, then use only the rune cheat, turn off the cheat, close Plitch entirely, spend all the runes I have, then kill my character twice to ensure any modified added runes are gone, and then go back online, will I still be able to play with that character online?

You could play online but the chance is there that you can get banned for it.

I see, I know in Dark Souls 1-3 it was possible to use cheat engine, art money, or other trainers/programs to modify stuff like "souls" when you were offline. Level up as much as you want and buy what you wanted before turning the cheats off,  killing your character twice to lose all your souls, and then restarting the game online. This always worked I guess since I was only modifying one thing offline and then getting rid of it before going back online. Didn't know if this trainer worked as the others in the past.

It works like the others but even then there was the chance to get a ban.

Understandable, I think I'll just create a new character to test it out doing doing what is suggested in the "Important Hints" section. I'll perform what I mentioned on the new character and see what happens. Should I post my results here afterwards or just keep it to myself?

Okay so I have about over an hour on my test character using only the rune cheat while in offline mode and it hasn't been banned. What I did was ensure my game was set up to start off in offline mode, then started the game through Plitch so it disabled EAC, maxed out the test character by leveling it up, bought the entire inventory of Merchant Kale, bought as many arrows/bolts as I could, turned off Plitch by closing it out, then proceeded to kill my character a couple of times to ensure any modified runes were completely gone, exited the game entirely, then started the game up normally through steam so EAC was turned back on, and was able to get back online with no issue.

What I expected seems to be true, while in offline mode and EAC turned off I could modify things such as runes to level the test character all the way to max and buy whatever I wanted. So long as I killed my character a couple of times the modified runes would disappear from the game completely  while the items I bought and the leveling up is still registered as legitimate values. If you do not get rid of the modified runes before going back online I expect that EAC will detect the modified data and proceed to ban you offline.

I suspect you can use some other cheats as well so long as you get rid of those values/items before going back online.

This method should be perfect for those that wish to have one character that is played without cheats and still play online and another to goof around with in offline mode.

Note that if you max out your character using this method, you can still play with the maxed out character online. However you will not get any advantage whatsoever against other players as the only people you will invade or get invaded by are other players at the same level. This is good though as I am sure Plitch doesn't want anyone using their program to have an unfair advantage against other players.
