Trouble with the item increasing.

To whom it concerns, 

  I am not sure if I am doing this correctly, using the item duplication or increase in the numerals or representations for this trainer. Is there a trick to it; could someone elaborate about this please, how is one to get it done. Sorry, for the lack of knowledge on this game. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hey! Could you please make sure that you've selected the correct trainer version for the game version you're running and the platform you're playing on? Also, you need to enable the "Prepare for items (on mouse hover)" cheat prior to the item count cheats.

I would assume the game on steam would be the latest version I am attempting to comply with the request will let you know if there is any change.  There is no change the item / inventory screen is not function to my knowledge. The other cheats are working fine, which is to my wonderment. o, to clarify I am to open the inventory screen; turn on the cheat; hover my mouse item over the item and just hit the hot key? and it should work?
