Why does prepare only work sometimes?

As mentioned above, i am having a similar/same issue. Several days ago the trainer worked fine. Since then i have had nothing but issues.
My Setup/Info as below,
Using the steam version of the game
Using the steam version of the trainer
No mods ever
Up until the trainer stopped working;
I only used the base version of the game & the most current trainer version (version being used when it stopped working was 0139).
However, to test the trainer in the event of minor updates causing it to wig out, i have also swapped the game into & back out of the games beta version (beta_1.3.248) whilst using the trainer & its various versions along with both the PC version & the mobile version of the Plitch App (also uninstalled & installed the apps to make sure it wasnt that).
Throughout the entire process, the trainer has always done the following with no deviations even whilst trialling the beta game version with the trainer.
Tried all trainer versions;
0034 | 0058 | 0059 - version that does not have the "Give all resources" function.
The only 2 button functions that are green and selectable are;
Prepare & Fill Started Research
The rest of the button functions are greyed out
1) Load up the save game.
2) Select "prepare"
3) Yellow border appears around the "Prepare" button.
4) Audible sound heard as if it worked.
5) 5 - 10 seconds later a second audible sound heard as if de-selecting the function button.
Tried all trainer versions;
0116 | 0139 - version that do have "Give All Resources" function.
he only 2 button functions that are green and selectable are;
