I'm on steam, I open the profile, prepare, close and open profile again, add xp, close and open again, I see the actual xp add (57839/1000) but my level doesn't go up with the xp.

You have to gain experience by the game to level up.

After activating the xp cheat, you need to gain some xp by playing the game so that you level up.
A small amount is enough for the game to register the extra xp.
