Is the prepare greyed out?
Is your numpad turned on?

Numpad is on and the prepare button is lit up.

When playing via Steam, did you make sure to select the latest steam version in the trainer instead of the msstore one?
Are you using mods?

I use the latest version and I am not using mods. Here's a screenshot if that helps:

You can see there I'm using the latest version and the game is running. Prepare is lit up but when I press it nothing happens.

Uh oh...nope I just noticed I don't have it on the latest version. There we go I got it to work. :)
