fast research not working

I have tried countless times to get this to work but it just isn't. I'm in franchise mode if that matters but there is no warning saying it shouldn't work in here. I hear the sounds of it turning on and off but it's not making the research go any faster or anything. Any tips?

Did you start a research, activated the cheat and start the research again?

Are you playing the campaign or a scenario?
Is it still not working with the recent version?

I tested the cheat and it seemed to work.
I instantly got all level of the research instead of only one :o
Do you have Win10 or Win7?
