I have tried the workarounds from other threads, but the EAC stops loading at 0% on startup. Please help.

have you tried out this workaround:
Open up "Windows Defender Firewall with Advanced Security"
Go to "Outbound Rules" and click on "New Rule"
Select "Program", choose the "start_protected_game.exe" within the installation folder of the game, select "Next" twice and then assign a Name (like Sword Art Online Anticheat).
Run the game manually via Steam and open up the trainer after the game has fully loaded (do not use the Play Button in the trainer anymore)
