Sorry was a little vague. What is happening is that jumping is no longer affected by this. Running and walking continue to work as normal.

Was messing around with this and after I through all my stuff into my room safe and then transferred it all back to my pack, weight cheat began working as normal in all aspects.

I'll add a reason why it works and it's intended to work from my experience. You enable it in game and you just need to unequip a weapon, spacesuit, or clothes (using consumables works too). When Oribron transferred items it has the same effect in updated the weight count so that both would work. You don't need to transfer all items, only one or unequipping an  item.
