steam and the version is correct the prepare turned green when i pressed it but none of the cheats work

Please verify your game files in Steam. You can do this by right-clicking the game in your Steam Library → Properties → Installed Files → Verify integrity of game files.
Also, please make sure to run both PLITCH and Steam as administrators. To do this, right-click on their desktop icons and select “Run as administrator.”
