characters dont seem to level up once i got to midpoint of the game. codes are off and some characters dont seem to level up.. they get the experience after battle but it doesnt take. after second battle the start back at 0 and gain new experience that doesnt stay with them.. any recommendations?

i use the codes save then turn them off and restart the game because the game crashes when everything is left on..

Did the game crashes when leaving the prepare activated?
Have you verified your gamefiles for errors?
Which antivirus software are you using?
Do you own a legit copy of the game via steam?

avg internet security, 
i own a legit copy from the recent steam deal
not sure how to go to the game files for errors 
so if i leave the prepare cheats on the game crashes not right off the hop, probably get a few minutes in fight a battle and then crash. 
main thing is when i use cheats like the level up cheat, it works perfectly but the character wont keep the experience in the next future battles, im currently looking into what i have to do to make it so the keep theiir experience by switching out characters and fighting a few battles and by restarting the game and loading a save.

Can you add the entire plitch folder to the whitelist in avg and see if this changes something?

You can check your gamefiles for errors by rightclicking on your game in steam -> properties... -> local files -> verify integrity of game files...
