Never crashed before, now it does repeatedly.

Morning.

Logged on to Steam as administrator. Logged on to Clitch as administrator.

Started via Plitch and loaded a save game.

Used Alt F1 to prepare, hovered cursor on reputation tab and waited for the menu to appear, before pressing LShift F4.

Continued with Alt F3, Alt F5, LShift F1, LShift F2 and LShift F3.

All cheat codes gave off the usual sound upon activation.

Switched to campaign, picked the next battle, chose my units and pressed Start.

...and the game crashed to desktop.

First time for me, having played this game several times for almost 300 hours without any problems.

So, I tried once more. With another saved game. Went through the arduous process of refitting, remanning and repairing my units after the previous battle.

Used Alt F1 and LShift F4 with the keyboard, but then switched to Plitch and activated the cheats from here.

And to my surprise, ALT F3 switched off all by itself, only a few seconds after I used it. Still able to switch on all the other cheats, but ALT F3 continued to switch off by itself.

ALT F2 were no better, switching off almost at once.

Every activation of the cheats brought the usual sound - but when ALT F2/F3 switched off, there was no sound.

Now, that was something new. And annoying. Apparently the bugger has decided to be neutral all  by itself. Recommendable. And annoying. I have absolutely no useless processors running in the background. Nothing, that have not been there for the past 300 hours of gameplay. And I am annoyed.

Hey taj1964! I'm sorry about the annoyance caused by the crashes. Could you please verify your game files for errors via Steam? Regarding the behaviour of the "Cheats work for the Confederation" and "Cheats work for the Union" cheats, that is intended - they're pointer cheats that will only change a game value once and then turn off so as to not adjust said value repeatedly. You can identify pointer cheats by the small hexagon icon next to them. The cheats with the small triangle (or play icon) next to them are script cheats that will repeatedly adjust values and only turn off if turned off manually.

Morning.
Thank you for the information regarding pointer cheats - I had no idea, never having noticed before. Game files verified 100% via Steam. Game starts fine, cheats are activated and battle is commenced - then the screen freezes, soldiers start dying and game crashes.

According to the crash report noted; "Unknown cause a Privileged Instruction (0x0000096) in module Unknown at 0023:06d1e56d."

I have absolutely no idea what to make of that.
