prepare work around not working for me
i see other people have had issues where they can't use prepare for the cheats and i've tried to do the work arounds people have mentioned but nothing is working for me, has anyone fixed it another way ?

running both as admin didnt help unfortunately, i guess i'll just play properly haha

Have you verified your gamefiles for errors in Steam? To do that you need to rightclick on the game in your Steam library -> Properties -> Local Files -> Verify integrity of game files.
