The Dungeon Of Naheulbeuk - The Amulet Of Chaos. Steam version. Cannot activate cheats

Please always take the newest version, the one on top. Additionally, please ensure to launch both PLITCH and Steam as administrator. To do this, rightclick on their desktop icons and select "Run as administrator". Then launch the game via the "PLAY" button in PLITCH and activate the Prepare after fully loading in your savegame. 

Yuppers, running as admin as a matter of habit, using the most recent steam version from the dropdown as it matches my game version. Issue is I start the game via Plitch, but the "play" button does not change into the "running" button, so the prepare option stays grayed out so no cheats can be activated. The "running" status does not happen wether I start the game in any version of steam from the dropdown, (my game is updated to current version listed), or just the version that matches my game, nor if I start the game from the Steam menu. I am running the base game without any DLC. Edit: Happens with new game and a loaded saved game.

I purchased all 3 DLC for the game and restarted everything and now the "running" button shows up, so there is some cutout that doesn't allow the trainer to be used with just the base game.
