windows 11 strikes again
as of today windows keeps blocking plitch. Something to do with smart control app. cant seem to find a way to add plitch as safe. If I turn off app control it re-enables after an hour or so. any ideas ? other than go back to windows 10 which im seriously debating

Hey guys,
thanks for letting us know. Please try performing a clean installation of the PLITCH client using the "Uninstall PLITCH" .exe file. You can find it by right-clicking the PLITCH desktop icon, selecting "Open file location," and looking for a file named "unins000". Use this file to uninstall PLITCH, then restart your PC. After that, download and reinstall it using the setup from our website: https://www.plitch.com/en/downloadsoftware. Once reinstalled, please try launching the client following the usual steps. Give it a try and let us know if everything works for you. Thanks in advance!

you stated that "windows" is blocking plitch? this maybe to advanced for you but I'm thinking it's a registry issue. DO NOT attempt this if you're not comfortable. So please backup your registry/windows. Are you willing to try my suggestion?
<EDIT>
If you fixed the issue then nevermind.

"Microsoft built this feature with an all-or-nothing approach. If an app like PLITCH lacks a digital signature that Microsoft’s cloud trust system recognizes, it gets blocked automatically.
The reason the block keeps returning after an hour is likely because you are turning off Real-time protection in Windows Defender, which is programmed by Windows to automatically turn itself back on after a short period to protect your PC.
To permanently stop Windows 11 from blocking PLITCH, you must completely turn off Smart App Control instead of pausing your antivirus":
How to Turn Off Smart App Control
- Open the Start menu, type Windows Security, and open the app.
- Click on App & browser control in the left menu.
- Click on Smart App Control settings.
- Change the toggle to Off.
- Confirm by clicking "Yes, I'm sure" when the warning prompt appears.

Another way is to go to the Privacy & Security, then Windows Security, open Virus & threat protection, then Protection History. This lists all apps that is being flagged as unsafe. You click on the top one and it opens the window to show you what is being blocked. You can, from the bottom right Actions window, click to "allow on device".

i've found it to be related to windows Smart App Control under App & Browser control in windows security settings. it scans and blocks apps that IT thinks are unsafe. wich can cause the periods of working and then it seemingly break
i got this turned off, and have found no issues starting/using PLITCH or any other software apps. just use common sense and a bit of smarts if you do turn this setting off
<EDIT>
to add, IF Smart App Control has done its eval it'll auto turn on. after Turning it off Windows claims that it shouldn't turn back on by itself. wich i can confirm, it wont re-evaluate either unless you reinstall windows.
hope this helps
