none of the cheats are working even tho they show active. and over half of the codes wont even turn on

Are you playing via Steam or Epic?
Did you make sure to select the correct version (Steam/Epic) in the trainer?
Which cheat isn't working for you?

Cheats do not work for me either.  Prepare for cheats turns on but the acutal cheats do not turn on.  I downloaded the game from Steam and I tried all the various Steam versions.

Xcom 2 War of the Chosen cheats seem to work but not the base Xcom 2 game cheats.  Thank you!
