The strategy game Sid Meier's Civilization VI from the developer Firaxis Games from 2019 still inspires countless players. Especially the second expansion, Gathering Storm, is very popular among players. In Gathering Storm, your decisions have an impact on the environment, so you should always give them enough thought.
We at PLITCH give you an overview of some of the new features of the DLC, as well as some important tips and info you can use to get off to a good start in Sid Meier's Civilization VI - Gathering Storm.
New Features
We just want to introduce you to a few new features and not spoil anything, after all, it's best to explore Sid Meier's Civilization VI - Gathering Storm for yourself. Besides the influence of your decisions on the environment, you'll also be able to research advanced technologies, conduct negotiations in the World Congress and build many new units, districts, modernizations and buildings. Additionally, there are seven world wonders to discover and there are eight new civilizations and nine new leaders in Gathering Storm.
Energy and Technology System
There is also an energy system that will let you make some buildings more effective. To generate energy, you'll need resources such as coal, uranium and oil. However, the production of energy releases CO2, which of course has an impact on the environment. Through research, you can look for alternatives, such as wind farms, solar parks, etc. However, your research lab also needs energy to run. The three raw materials coal, oil and uranium are therefore very important in Gathering Storm.
In Sid Meier's Civilization VI, the technology system has also been revised. There are now two technology trees and a variety of new technologies.
Natural Wonders
Also, a variety of natural wonders have been added in Gathering Storm, namely the following: Sahara el Beyda, Pamukkale, Mount Vesuvius, Mato Tipila, Ik-Kil, Gobustan, Chocolate Hills.
Cities
Let's start with the most important feature in Civilization VI: the cities. In cities you build different things like units, projects, districts and wonders. When you conquer all the cities of an enemy civilization, victory is yours. There are different types of victories, more on that later. You can obtain cities in three different ways: by founding them, by capturing them, or by drawing them to your side through loyalty pressure.
Gold
As in many other games, you need gold in Civ VI to survive and advance in the game. There are several ways to earn gold in the game. For example, you can have the terrain fields around your cities farmed. You can also earn gold in Civilization VI through terrain and upgrades, districts and buildings, trading posts, trade routes, looting enemy upgrades, conquering cities, etc. Of course, if you need more gold, you can use our PLITCH cheat codes. More on that later.
Types of victories
There are different types of victories in Sid Meier's Civilization VI - Gathering Storm.
Score Victory
After the inevitable end of the game after (usually) 500 turns, the one with the highest score wins. Points are gained through cities, for example. The best leader for a score victory in Civilization VI is Frederick Barbarossa (Germany).
Science victory
If you complete different projects in your spaceport, you have a chance to win the science victory.
Culture victory
For a culture victory you need a certain number of foreign tourists. This depends on how much culture you have and what age the game is in. The best leader for a culture victory is Qin Shi Huang (China).
Domination victory
This is achieved when you own or control all the capitals at the same time.
Religion victory
You must convert all civilizations to your own religion if you want to win the religion victory. To do this, you must first convert at least half the population of a city, and then convert at least half the cities of a civilization. To convert citizens, you need an apostle. An apostle can only be bought with faith and has 3 preparations. In addition, an apostle can initiate an inquisition. An apostle ignores borders and can start battles. The best leader for a religion victory is Mansa Musa (Mali).
Diplomacy victory
This is only available in the Civ VI DLC Gathering Storm. For this you have to collect 20 diplomacy victory points. You can get them at the World Congress, when you build wonders, when you do certain research, and when you request help. In the World Congress you get the points by winning votes. The best leader for a diplomacy victory is Wilfrid Laurier (Canada).
