did you make sure to launch Plitch and Steam as administrator? The trainer requires admin right to fully function.
Also did you follow the step in the "important hint" and launched the game via the play button in the trainer?

I did see the important hint, I was not launching plitch and steam with admin. That seems to have worked, thanks for clearing that up for me!
