Prepare for cheats

Whenever I open the game and I hit the prepare for cheats key, my game immediatly crashes and its closed out. Ive tried changing the key bind, but I get the same result everytime.

Are you playing via steam or msstore?
Did you make sure to select the right version (steam/msstore) in the trainer?
