Can't get free build to work! Steam version 0.5.9.1-33dabbc-SW 64 bit
I start the game, load my saved game, Activate prepare. everything seems to work exept free build.
It worked after the last update. I don't know what changed.

is your game version the 0.5.9.1-33dabbc-SW version as well? Or are you playing any beta/experimental version of the game?
Did you launch Plitch and Steam as administrator?

I am experiencing the same issue, my game version matches what is above as well and I am not using a Betas. I have also launched Plitch as Admin
