Linux client

Hi all,
I am trying to find out if there are plans to add Linux support on the roadmap? I have made the switch to Ubuntu and my games work very well. It is likely I won't be going back to Windows anytime soon. I do have to (unfortunately) maintain a dual boot just to use Plitch and I was wondering if there was at least a workaround for it? It's literally the last thing left.
Thanks in advance.

Hey MrPetes,
Unfortunately, we currently have no plans to support Linux. Supporting it would require us to develop entirely new tools from scratch, as our internal libraries responsible for creating and executing cheats are built specifically for Windows.
Additionally, most of the tools we use to develop our cheats are only available on Windows, and we would first need to create Linux-compatible alternatives ourselves. We appreciate your understanding on this matter.

Sure, I get it.
I would ask you keep an eye on it. Windows is in decline and Linux is starting to gain momentum. It is now a viable replacement for gaming and is outperforming windows. See the Steamdeck vs Windows based devices in Youtube for example.
Desktop market share for Windows has declined 7% since jun 2020 and Linux has increased from 1.85% to 4% and will likely keep going. I am personally not going back to windows which means I am likely not going renew my Plitch subscription.
If you ever create a product or need testers please reach out to me and I will consider re-subscribing.
I do love Plitch as a product and wish you guys all the best.

Thank you for the suggestion. Of course, we’ll keep an eye on the topic and consider it in the future. We’re sorry to see you go, but we’ll reach out to you if we need any testers for a potential Linux transition.

I also did my switch to Linux in late 2024, therefore I am also available for testing, if needed.
@IronJulia, would it be possible to get a list of the Windows Modules / Tools Plitch is depending on? - Then I could try to get Plitch running in the WINE environment. DM would be fine.

Thank you for showing interest in this topic! I'm not entirely sure which specific modules or tools would need to be ported. However, some time ago we did attempt to bring Plitch to the Steam Deck. Since the Steam Deck runs on Linux, this would have potentially made the client compatible with Linux in general. That said, it's been a while since that effort, and the project was put on hold at some point, so I'm currently unsure of its status.
