Hey David L,
after you have started both PLITCH and Steam with explicit administrator rights (right-click on the desktop icon and then "run as administrator"), start the game with the "PLAY" button in PLITCH.
Load into your savegame and play for at least one minute. Open the menu and close it. Then try to activate the "Prepare" and open the menu again.
Afterward, you should be able to activate the other codes too. Please try it out this way.
